Daily Acts of Courage are simple 5-minute activities you can do any day or every day to move you closer towards what you want. Make some day, today!

This strategy helps you achieve long-term goals by taking a single step at a time.

Here's how it works!

Preparation

  • Keep an open mind of what's possible
  • Watch for excuses such as perfectionism, fears of success/failure, and not giving yourself permission as some of the barriers which may get in your way
  • Listen for words that contradict your intentions, "Well, as soon as..." Take a small stand today to get started with no further waiting.
  • Ask yourself, "What's the best that can happen?"

Tip: Watch "Eat That Frog" by Brian Tracy which helped inspire this strategy. I prefer to call it Daily Acts of Courage!

Personal Examples

Each Monday, I post my Daily Act of Courage on Facebook. The act can be anything from making a phone call, doing research, or asking for help from others. Here are some real ideas that you can use:

  • "Saying YES to what I want in my life. If it doesn't feed the soul, let it go!"
  • "Today I'm decluttring where I've been to make room for where I'm going."
  • "To surprise someone I know with gratitude for their guidance when I was in a tough place."
  • "To envision the next 6 months, put it in a plan, and email that plan this morning to my coach."

Instructions

  1. Identify an activity you've been considering for a while that's connected to your ultimate future goals.
  2. Commit to doing one small act
  3. Carve out 5 minutes in your schedule
  4. Make this activity the first thing you tackle in your day
  5. [Optional] Consider choosing one day, such as Monday, to make a bigger ripple that affects your whole week

After several days of practicing Daily Acts of Courage, you'll gain momentum in bringing your future forward. You'll feel amazing knowing that you're putting a energy into your goals every day.

Why not get excited about your future today? Who says your dreams need to be on hold "as soon as" something else waits to be completed?
